Nicol David joins WESA Board of Directors

We at WESA are beyond thrilled to welcome Nicol David to our Board of Directors. We had the privilege of meeting with Nicol on her trip to Seattle last fall, where our scholars had the opportunity to get on court with her and many of us had the good fortune of getting to watch Nicol play. Following that visit, we've had the chance to collaborate remotely with Nicol as she builds her foundation. It is a pleasure and honor to work with Nicol and we could not be more excited to welcome her to our community in a more official capacity. The knowledge, drive, passion, and experience that Nicol brings with her to the role of Director will undoubtedly help to move WESA forward in its squash training as well as each other aspect of our mission.

Nicol David - Former World No. 1

Often considered to be the best female squash player of all time, Nicol has set numerous world records and achieved greatness of which most can only dream. Nicol

  • Held the rank of World No. 1 for 108 consecutive months

  • Won 8 World Open titles

  • Won the World Junior title twice

These achievements speak not only to Nicol's rare and awe inspiring squash ability- from technique to strategy, but to her determination, strength, and hard work. We very much look forward to working with Nicol and all that she has to offer on and off the court. 

 
 

In her retirement, Nicol has chosen to create a foundation to serve youth in Malaysia through sport. Similar in its mission to WESA, the Nicol David Foundation (NDO) is a natural partner organization for WESA. We are excited to work with Nicol and NDO as it continues to grow, to provide even greater experiences and opportunities for the youth participating in both programs.
